The Cruise...Part two....continued

The cruise was a seven night Eastern Caribbean cruise that was to depart from Miami at 5pm. We finished our Windjammer lunch as I was describing in the previous segment and then went to check out our cabins.
We had selected 7328, a balcony cabin onthe starboard side at the aft end of the hump. The room itself was very nicely decorated and was typical, but the balcony was very private. It had steel wall partitions from ceiling to floor. It was our first balcony and very enjoyable.
I recall that it was very sunny and hot that day. The party started early on deck. The music was playing....colorful drinks everywhere....people sunbathing already.........and dancing the Elictric Slide and other group line dances. The cruise directors voice came over the public address system repeatedly, warning everyone to use sunscreen and not get burned up before the cruise even starts. Yes, it was very hot....but then again, I like it that way. It was a fun afternoon but eventually you have to do the Muster Drill and that kind of breaks up the fun. Then, before you know it........ we're moving.
Dinner was really nice . We had a large table by the window which was a plus. I did a little research and found that we had early seating in the DaGama dining room on deck four. Voyager class ships have a three floor dining room. They are stunning to say the least.
There is always a welcome show on cruise ships but the Voyager Class ships ( of which Explorer belongs to) have a welcome parade in the Promenade. It was so cool. The theme was "Explorers" of course. People lined up along the sides of the promenade....or sat at tables in the cafe and Pub. Music playing......lighting effects and an explosion of confetti and streamers at the conclusion. It's a must see event.

Next time............ the rest of the cruise in a nutshell.
